Reasons PaperFilms loves our local Comic Stores

Everyone here at the PaperFilms team loves our local Comic Stores.  Even if we have our books in digital format, even if we use the Kickstarter format to distribute our books, we still always work with and support as many of our local Comic Retailers.  What is better is if we are able to have our a store come up to us and offer up a wonderful opportunity to spotlight the team.

When a wonderful staffer at B&M Amusement approached us about doing a spotlight on Jimmy Palmiotti and said he had worked out  an idea to help not only promote the creator but try to draw new readers into our projects, we quickly worked out the details and jumped in.  Tyler went all out.

If you’re in the area, be sure to check out for the month of September the spotlight on Jimmy Palmiotti and the other PaperFilms team:

And as we continue on the Labor Day holiday, we have been so thankful to reach our stated goal for Sex & Violence: Vol. 2 but we’re not looking to stop.  We’ve already got one stretch goal announced and we’ve got a couple other items cooked up that we’ll be posting soon.  So, if you’ve ever considered backing a Kickstarter by the PaperFilms team, now is a good time.  We’ve got plenty of options to purchase both the current project but also snag a copy of Sex & Violence: Vol. 1 with a new Amanda Conner and Dave Johnson cover.  This is important as of right now, we have no more copies of Vol. 1 (first print).  A testament to everyone’s desire to support these projects.  We can’t thank you enough.
Head on over to the Sex & Violence: Vol. 2 Kickstarter page to join the madness!
Have a wonderful holiday folks!

Sex and Violence Vol. 2 Kickstarter is live

Well folks, we are super excited to announce the PaperFilms seventh (that’s right, seventh) Kickstarter is going live today!  We’re happy to announce the well received Sex and Violence Vol. 2 Kickstarter is live:

We’ve got some great stories included in the project, with some amazing talent.  Containing three unique stories, amazing artists for the tales, what we hope is cool concepts and stories and all wrapped up in some amazing covers by the uber talented Amanda Conner and the snuggly Dave Johnson.

If you are able to join the campaign, we’d love to see you participate!

We hope everyone is having a great summer and we hope to see each and every one of your lovely faces to show our true appreciation for your support!

We just wanted to point out Frank Tieri’s upcoming convention schedule.  Frank will be appearing at the following conventions:

Make sure to swing by Frank’s table at these conventions and curse him out!

Summer Sale and more

Wow folks, it has been an incredibly busy, but wonderful, summer so far.  The entire team has been making the rounds with various projects and conventions to keep us all on our toes.  From a Kickstarter standpoint, the team has been heads down working our way through the incredible backing list to get each and every backer of DENVER their reward tier.  Lots of prints and books to sign and pack up.  It is a chore but let us tell you, it is one of the most rewarding feelings!

photo 1 photo 2 (1) photo 2 photo 3 (1) photo 3

We’re continuing that process.

June was also a very exciting month for us since we finally were able to have our collaboration with the talented Hugh Howey of WOOL released on the Kindle platform from Amazon’s Jet City Comics.  This is a big deal folks.  Both Justin and Jimmy are huge fans of Hugh to begin with so the project was a joy to be able to collaborate with such a talented writer.  If you get the chance to purchase and enjoy, please, leave a comment on the Amazon page, it helps us a ton!

Also, make sure you are keeping up with Savage Wolverine with Frank Tieri.  He returned to the title and has been itching to craft yet another great story.  You can find a bit of his approach at this great CBR interview:

And if you haven’t noticed yet, we have a large assortment of Amanda Conner prints now listed on the website.  Knowing that it can be difficult getting to conventions, we wanted to open up a limited amount of prints on our website for everyone to enjoy the great artwork of Amanda Conner.  All prints come hand signed by Amanda and are quality prints.  So head on over to the store website and check them (and other signed books and projects) out!

To help everyone out, we’ve added a 1 week coupon on our site (10% off ALL items on the store).  Thanks right, everything…all…the whole kit and kaboodle.  Enter Coupon Code:  SUMMER and you’ll get 10% off everything (offer expires 6/22/2014).  Just our way of saying “Thanks” for supporting everything we do!

The PaperFilms takeover begins with your support!

Wool, Harley Quinn, coupon and conventions

Whew….the entire PaperFilms team is heading into what should be a wonderful but busy June.  All of the team members have some exciting projects racing forward so we hope you understand the gap between posts.  We love interacting with all of our fans and supporters as much as possible so we hope you understand that hitting our deadlines is our #1 priority.

The bad news for us is that we’ve had to let All-Star Western and Jonah Hex ride off into the sunset.  Unfortunately the numbers just didn’t add up on the book and while we’re sad to see the big guy go, Justin and Jimmy are lucky and thrilled to have the amazing Darwyn Cooke in the saddle for the last round.  We couldn’t ask for a better partner to send off Jonah!

The good news is that we have some exciting projects coming up.  Harley Quinn continues to be pushing sales well above expectation and the title will begin double shipping in the upcoming months.  With all the wackiness that comes with the character, it certainly has been a fun trip with Harley for Amanda and Jimmy.

Also starting from DC is Star Spangled War Stories featuring GI Zombie.  It is such a wacky title and Jimmy and Justin are thrilled to have Scott Hampton onboard for the art on this title.  The pair did a quick interview up at Newsarama that you can check out their thoughts on the title.

In addition to the DC work by the team, in June the Amazon Kindle Jet City series WOOL will launch.  The Justin and Jimmy have teamed up with Hugh Howey to provide the graphic adaptation of his great WOOL series.  We were thrilled when they reached out to us about crafting the adaptation and hope to provide Hugh’s story justice.  You can find out more about the title at Amazon:

Also upcoming in June (14th and 15th), if you are in the NY/Long Island area, the Eternal Con is hosting Amanda, Frank and Jimmy (along with Nelson DeCastro) for the weekend.  If you are in the area and want to check them out, make sure to swing by.  More information can be found at the website:

Do you know that the PaperFilms team has their own Publisher section on Comixology?  That’s right, head on over to see just some of our titles grouped accordingly:

As this day goes along, we want to express our extreme thanks to everyone on this Memorial Day that served for our country.  It doesn’t get said enough but we truly thank each and everyone of you for putting your lives on hold and in the line for our safety and freedom!

Since we’ve had so much going on, we wanted to give a little back if we can from ourselves to you.  Therefore, we’ve created a 10% storewide coupon (excluding prints) for our store.  Simply enter: MEMORIAL at the checkout and get 10% off your order (good through 5/31/2014).

Once again, we can’t thank everyone enough for all your loyalty and true support!
